Grey modern Origin bifolding doors replace Rehau PVCu
Our customer got in touch with us frustrated at their unreliable woodgrain bifolding doors. Over the years the doors had become more and more unreliable. Even worse was the doors starting to cost the homeowner money with the regular call out charges from double glazing repair firms with no permanent solution.
The customer got in touch with us and after discussions, we agreed on replacing the dated doors with an aluminium set of our best-selling Origin bifolds.
Why aluminium is best for large patio doors.
Some of the problems with these doors included sticky doors, jammed locks, juddering along the rollers. All in all, a generally poor experience. This is not to say their doors were bad from day 1. However, as PVCu doors age, the material tends to become more brittle.
Another fact is the hardware used on PVCu bifolding doors is not as good as what you get with aluminium. With most PVCu older doors the hinges and folding sliding mechanism is face applied. The profile itself is just not strong enough to take the fixings. Aluminium bifolds give you less visible hardware you don’t get with PVCu.
PVCu doors aren’t bad products. They’ve just proven themselves unreliable as time goes on. This is especially the case as regular use and the complexity of a bifold mechanism just works better with aluminium.
