What makes Sunflex sliding doors some of the best on the market today? Made in the UK with exemplary product quality and high specifications, Sunflex is your go-to product when you want an upper-level slider for your new extension or property improvement project. Here’s everything you need to know about Sunflex sliding doors and why they’ll provide a high quality door solution for your home.
Sunflex sliding doors explained
At North West Bifolds we’ve got a substantial patio doors collection, meeting most customer requirements for budget, styling, design, or functionality. Whether you choose an Origin sliding door with three different sightline solutions, our European-designed Reynaers product, or any other, you’ll get well-made doors with excellent security, weather protection, and above all, reliability.
All of our sliding doors come with thermally insulated profiles, a high quality powder-coated finish as well as our quality safety glass units with very good U-Values. Sunflex sliding doors offer all of these features too, but they also come with some differences.
First of all, is the background of the company behind Sunflex sliding doors. Made in the UK in Norwich, Sunflex products are only available through a specially trained network of installers. But the Sunflex name goes even further. Sunflex is internationally regarded as one of the finest glazing systems providing luxury bifolding doors in aluminium as well as a combination of wood and aluminium. The bifolding doors by Sunflex are only made in Germany with a global reputation.
In the UK, Sunflex has more than two decades of aluminium expertise and manufacturing know-how. As a result, Sunflex sliding doors have pedigree, combined with gorgeous aesthetics and genuine desirability.
The quality and exclusivity of Sunflex products are such that they’re only available through a carefully selected network of approved installers and we are one of these for their sliding products.
What Sunflex sliding doors are available
When it comes to door designs, Sunflex has several sliding door products in its portfolio. These are based on styling, sightlines and how you want them to slide.
Therefore, choosing the best Sunflex sliding door model depends on your particular property or design of a wnew extension. If you’re replacing dated patio doors with a new slider, any of the Sunflex products work very well. If you’re planning the look of your new extension, it’s worth talking to us early at the design stage. This helps us to advise you better. Perhaps you’re looking for a flush threshold, you can’t decide between two or three panels, even an open corner design.
Planning the door element of your new extension is best done early so you’re clear on all your options.
Then comes the choice of colour, and all Sunflex doors come in the full RAL colour range including some special finishes like metallic or textured paints.
Perhaps you need better acoustics. Here we can advise on glass units providing better sound insulation. Or you may want even more security and laminated glass provides an excellent solution here.
Finally, Sunflex sliding doors come with an excellent handle range in a variety of finishes so it’s worth looking at options for these too, giving you the right look on your set of doors.
Sunflex SVG83 contemporary sliding doors
The SVG83 slider by Sunflex has the largest mullion sightlines but the benefit of these is larger door sizes and a more distinctive product. Not everyone wants the slimmest sliding doors and there are installations and house styles where this contemporary slider with 83mm mullion works really well. It’s styling is flat, modern and very strong.
The SVG83 is the best choice when you need a sliding door with the highest performance
SVG30 Sunflex sliding doors
Probably our most popular product with the perfect combination of narrow frame mullions without being too minimalist. The SVG 30 as the name suggests has 30mm mullions and is significantly thinner than other sliding doors on the market such as those by Aluk, Reynaers or Smart Systems.
The other benefit of SVG30 is its excellent styling, available in two, three or four panels as well as other more specialist designs.
Slimline SVG20 sliding doors
The slimmest Sunflex sliding doors on the market is the SVG20 model with a 20mm mullion just like the more expensive structurally bonded systems. The Origin minimal slider is an example of this bonded system.
However, unlike the bonded systems needing much deeper profiles for strength, Sunflex sliding doors with a 20mm mullion are substantially smaller and don’t project into your room as much. So whatever angle you view them at, they look neat, sleek and elegant.
Pocket Sliding Doors
Another Sunflex sliding doors feature is their pocket design. Pocket sliding doors work as part of a new extension design where the doors disappear into the wall pocket. And just like the SGV30 or the SVG20, when the doors fully open they stack flush too.
You won’t find this flush stacking on many sliding doors on the market and they just look so much better.
Open corner sliding doors
Nothing says ‘Wow’ like an open corner set of sliding doors and Sunflex also has this option across their range.
Again designed at the start with your builder or architect, Sunflex sliding doors come with either a fully supported roof or as shown here with a supporting post inside the room.
